How do you think a story about panic attack would appeal to others?

Okay I am a 16 year old girl and I’ve experienced many panic attacks before, I’m also a writter. I want to write a book about a girl who has to deal with panic attacks throughout her life. I’m hoping that it would appeal to young teens and make them want to read it. Would you read a book about that? It’s just an idea because I think I could really make you feel as though you know what it’s like to deal with panic attacks(unless you already do know what it’s like) What are your thoughts? :)

I feel sorry for her already.

I have had a panic attack before, when my friend went missing. maybe that could b a cause to the panic attack?

Well, for the most part I think that it would appeal to many. However, I would recommend that panic attacks be the secondary storyline, which would complement some adventure/journey that the girl is going on. The journey does not have to be physical- for example, she could be in university trying to become a vet, let’s say, and everyone is telling her that she will not be able to pass the final exams and will have to choose another profession.

Or you can simply write a short story about a girl with panic attacks and how she eventually overcame them. Plan it out carefully and it should be very interesting as you have a good basis for this story. Good luck!

Hi. Panic attacks are often associated with a condition we call GAD or General Anxiety Disorder. Basically, all hell breaks loose in your brain when the attack or anxiety strikes. Although there are medications to deal with them, those solutions are temporary. Other remedies include Yoga, Acupuncture, exercise, etc. It could also be related to a sleep disorder called Sleep Apnea. Best bet is to see your doctor for some sound advice. It is a great topic for a book, I must say.
