How do you go about applying for welfare or something like that?
I’m going to be homeless in about 2 weeks when I have to move off campus…I can’t go back home because my family doesn’t want me there anymore. I was thinking about applying for welfare, but I think I have to have kids and I don’t. I live in Atlanta, GA and I can’t find any shelters where I could stay and I can’t find a job…any advice?

I’m not completely sure how it goes, but I think you have to have kids, OR be homeless. Find a welfare office around where you live and apply. My sister in law gets it… They pay a percentage of her rent and she gets food stamps and all of that. Good Luck.
Just go and try…there’s no law against that…they’ll tell you eveything you need to bring in, and the criteria you need to fit under…The very worst thing that could happen, is that you get denied.

If it’s anything like Canada’s laws, there’s a “Homeless factor”, meaning that if you’re going to be homeless, you can’t be denied, whether you have children or not.
Go to the welfare office and apply, you won’t lose anything by trying.
