How do you stop bad breath? I know what your all going say, 'brush your teeth regularly, use a strrong mouth wash, etc'. But i do all of these, and within twenty minutes, my breath smells. i've been the dentist, and he says my teeth are great, and theres no infections. So what the hell is causing it. I allways get a complex when somebody comes up close to talk. My wife says it doesn't smell, but i know it does.
If you haven't been already - you need to go see your Doctor about it. Halitosis can be caused by many different things, not just teeth - such as mouth/tongue, gums, tonsils, your nose, or some diseases, which is why a Dentist is only going to be of limited help. A cure might be using a strong mouth wash and vigorous brushing, or going on a course of antibiotics or other medication, depending on the cause. Which is why you should see a Doctor and get an expert opinion/diagnosis.
Dear dicker, Yes, see a doctor if you feel your breath is still bad. Your wife says it doesn't smell...would she lie to you? What would her motive be? So perhaps your problem is with your nose and not your breath? Maybe you're looking in the wrong direction for answers? Is this causing problems with your relationship...eg: avoiding getting close etc. If it is then you have other issues to address. Sue...good luck
Halitosis is caused by your nutrition. I f you are eating junk food or eating something that is not healthy, mouthwash or toothpaste or medication of any kind, won't get rid of the smell.
it may be due to liver disease..are you an alcoholic?
And don't forget flossing when you brush.
