So im building a new computer, but keeping some older parts of my previous comoputer (HD, vid card, sound card, disc drive) And since im starting new im just wondering how can I completley wipe my hard drive so its like brand new...so I have to install the operating system again but once I do everything is clear like its brand new?
(prepare yourself) Well...I've watched several tutorials, read a lot about them, already knew SOME stuff...have friends who sort of know what theyre doing... anyways The computer is already built...I did it last night with a minimal amount of problems...only problem I have now is everytime I go past the setup screen, like the BIOS menu, my mosue/keyboard turn off...(legacy USB is enabled, if you were wondering...=P )
I know...not the smartest thing to do...but. I was sucessful...unless the keyboard/mouse shutting off can't be fixed and that would mean I have screwed up majorly somewhere in the process. lol
Just put it together and when you go to boot up from cd and load the operating system it will give you a chose to format the hard drive which will then delete everything off it and be like new again.
My dad knows more but teaches me this stuff as want to learn it.
I applaud you for building a new computer...but how do you plan on assembling it if you don't even know how to wipe a hard drive?
