How do I tell him I like him without makin it awkward if he doesnt?

ok, so there’s this guy a really like, right? And we text a lot, but we don’t see each other that much. How should I tell him I like him? I mean, when we get close to the subject while texting/a social site messaging, it feels so awkward! and if he doesn’t like me back, then how can we still be friends without this huge awkwardness? Please help!!!

i told a guy that i liked him straight up and u know what he talked to me more and flirts with me more he may not admit he feels the same way but i can kinda see it… its prolly easier to do it in a text… ask to play 20 questions (u just ask random stuff) but after a while make ur questions more thot out and if he asks u who he likes let him hang out for awhile and then tell him but give him time because it will b awkward… i regreted telling the guy i liked tht i liked him until i saw him in person again and he was more flirty then ever… whats the worst that can happen you know? and this guy and i are really close just dont make it awkward and i t wont be
