How do I scrunch my hair correctly?

So I’ve been trying to scrunch my hair a couple of times with a volumizing mousse but for some reason I feel like I can’t get it right. My hair is very straight naturally and I’m guessing it’s harder to get a little bit of waviness to it because of how thick it is. I’ve been wanting to have my hair just a little bit wavy for a while now but haven’t gotten around to trying it. I don’t want to put my hair in braids or any of that for waves. That seems to make my hair too wavy. I try to scrunch it when my hair’s damp but like I said I feel like I’m not doing it right and my hair always stays straight. Does anyone have any tips on how to scrunch it right? I also don’t want to try hair gel on my hair. I only want to try it with the mousse so any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I have straight hair too, beleive me it IS hard! But this is what I do it makes it super simple!!

Take a shower at night and after your hair is slightly dry (but still wet) seperate it into two even parts. Make two really tightly wrapped twisted buns. (use 2 hairties for each bun to secure it) Spray some hairspray.

Just go to sleep with these buns in. (if you twist and turn a lot in your sleep a lot you may want to use more than two hairties for each buns to make sure they stay put.)

IN the morning get a spray bottle with water and re wet your hair since it may have dried a lot over night, (your hair needs to be wet for scrunching).

Remove the buns. Take hair gel or mousse, whichever you like best ( I find that gel wiorks best for me), rub it around in your palms and bunch and scrunch portions of your hair. Repeat this as many time as you like till you get the desired finish. Add some hairspray and your done!

I hope I helped, this really works for me!

well you can take you moose and when your haire is almost dry…scrunch it for a while and hole it up for a while…and it all depends on the moose..sorry if this didnt help..:/

Try doing it with your mousse, and a difusser on a hair dryer (that big thing you put on the end, that difusses the air so it’s not actually BLOWING, just putting out warm air). I have a stand that holds my hand held dryer, so I can also bend over in front of it, to scrunch and get the under hair wavy and dry, using both hands.
