How do I no how he really feels?

Ok well theres this lad and hes really close with me and he has been for about 2 months and when I say I like him thats a understatment I love him hes amazing and he is always saying it to me like he texts me the whole time and is always talking to me on the phone like were really close but I was with him yesterday and he brought me for a walk and all this and it was soo nice and he said because we have meet up a few times before and I was like this time I hope its not weird with us and dont reck us or anything then he was like oh nothing has changed btw and all of this but then that was all grand it was a really nice day and all this and it was the nicest I ever had in a long long time but when I was on the phone tonight he said ‘’ I’ve been thinking about you all day but I’ve been thinking do I like you in that way and all this? ‘’ and also he had said he wanted to kiss me for ages through text and all but then he never did? and he was like oh I was wondering will I or wont I?

why do you think hes being like this? he hasnt done anything with a girl or anything like that or hasnt even kissed a girl do you think that could have something to do with it but why is he being weird saying he dont know if he likes me like that?
