how do I know when to give up?

Just to give you an idea of who I am. im a guy..16 in high school

Theres a girl I’ve like for a while now and when I got back into town a week ago I found out that she was going out with someone. At that point I pretty much gave up and didnt want anything to do with the word love/like heh..I think about a few days later after I found out what happend they broke up for some reason, im not sure why. It seems like now things are back to normal with her but my question is do I keep thinking about her or give up and move on…not meaning I like someone else but just be single since people say its all not that bad.

NEVER GIVE UP!!! i did what this girl is doing to you to the love of my life befor we dated. and now i went through a huge catharsis and realized who i really loved. and went with him

well how about finding out whether she likes you or not? if she is single then theres nothing to lose and no one to get mad! maybe flirt with her a little bit and see how she responds and if you get nothing back then move on.
