How do I know if my contact is in correctly?

My contacts have OK printed on them, but does anyone know if the OK should be read at the top or the bottom of the lens? I have put them in both ways, expecting discomfort if they were in wrong, but to no avail. And my prescription is not that strong so I can’t really tell a difference, especially being so farsighted. (They are day/ night contacts, if that helps at all?)

‘’Put the lens on the tip of your finger bring it to eye level if it looks like a bowl with the entire rim pointing upward; that would be the correct side

If it looks like a bowl with the rim pointing out; that would be the wrong side. It will feel very uncomfortable or hurt if you put it in this way.’’

Or, just look at the ‘’ok.’’

Answer #2

the ok doesnt have to go a certain way .. as long as you dont feel a lot of pain when blinking then they are in fine. if they arent in correctly, you wont be able to comfortably blink and generally the contact will fall out.. =] good luck =]

Answer #3

If the contacs are in right you will feel like they are not there as you get used to them… no pain no nothing..

Answer #4

This is kind of hard to understand without seeing it in person but I’ll try to explain it anyway.

Put the lens on the tip of your finger & bring it to eye level if it looks like a bowl with the entire rim pointing upward; that would be the correct side

If it looks like a bowl with the rim pointing out; that would be the wrong side. It will feel very uncomfortable or hurt if you put it in this way.

If you are just starting to wear contact it will feel weird even when they are in correctly because its something foreign in your eyes

I’ve been wearing contacts for 15 years

The “ok” is meant to be read as you look though the contact from the direction you would were it against your eye. It is meant to let you know if you are putting them in backwards, not to orient the top and bottom of the lens. They are meant to curve one way only, not be reversible, but there is not specific top or bottom to the lens, only an inside and an outside.

If you do manage to put them in backwards, you will notice a great deal more discomfort.
