How do I know if I need psychological help?
I was told I needed it when my mom read my journal. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the things in it, but apparently my memories and ideas that I wrote of in my journal were socialy unacceptable. I had never really had a relationship with my mother, so when she asked me about it she "got to know me".
So, that goes to say that you probably need psychological "help" when you do not adhere to the social norms, and or you are seen as having ideas that counter those of that same society. There is a negative stigma attached to therapy these days, though.
I don't see a change in my morals or beliefs since I started going. (I let them think I have changed so they leave me alone) But apparently I am good enough at that because I hid "my little secrets" my whole life until my mother found my journal...stupid me.
Well generally there's a couple of things that denote a disorder, if behaviors/thoughts/feelings/emotions are destructive or if they cause distress... so if something's bothering you or other people are noticing something is wrong you may need to see someone... maybe if you told us more about why you think you may need to see someone?
You did not say what sort of problems your mom read about when she was going through your journal. IF you want to know what kind of people need psychology help, try and go to http://www.researchomatic.com/psychology-essay/. Going to a psychology councilor is also a good idea. It will help you vent your problems.
If you think maybe you have it?
