Why am I so much into oldies music?

I am youth of about 22yrs and I love so much love oldies and slow music but people of my age lough at me so much that I love music of old people and I am old styles. This is the type of much turns me on. Is this really normal or I need to change even if I dont want? Advise me please.

Answer #1

Completely normal.

I love 70s and 80s music. I think that a lot of todays pop mainstream is soulless moneymaking. Casting-Groups, Girly-Bands and all that crap. I call it plasticide-music. The best songs they make are bad covers of old songs made by real artists.

And a lot of the old stuff is really good. Especially if you grab music that was revolutionary and completely new style when it was made in the first place. Especially if you grab music that was written by the people who sang it.

And as with all things: Music is a question of TASTE. And you do not need to change your taste if other people expect you to. You are who you are and you like what you like. And if you like old-style music, then that’s your individual taste and your individual style. And if everyone else likes hiphop or plastic-music, then that’s their problem. You are not a sheep you don’t need to look and act like everyone else in the flock. People must either accept you the way you are or shut up and go away.

Guys, you are all wonderful. I wish you were my friends all because you understand all the ways of how life goes. Yes, we have different tastes and preferences. One man’s poison is another man’s meat! I am now feeling secure with your advice and am not afraid of loving what I love on my heart. Let them love me or leave me because I love oldies music. Haha, I am so happy and excited to see that I am not alone in the world. This is the real type of music by the way. I have found myself.

Thanks to you all who gave me advice, you comforted me. Thank you!

Answer #4

You just have good taste in music. Most of the music out today is cr@p and I’d much sooner listen to old music than that. You’re friends don’t know what they’re talking about.

Answer #5

its better music thats why.

Answer #6

Because most modern music is either remade from the past or they sampled an old song. Pretty much just means old school or no school.

Answer #7

it’s like, ordering food to a restaurant.. you eat what makes you happy and full… music feeds the soul and it’s main purpose is to inspire us and not stay cool with friends just so as to say we’re in and updated… I love music from the 40’s to the 60’s love songs… I’m 24, I can go along with any type of music but definitely, I love reminiscing or relaxing with these songs, you might as well, listen too… that’s definitely normal… go with what makes you happy. :)

Answer #8

It’s normal, it’s something called preference. It’s what you like and your friends should respect that. If it bothers you then try to approach them about it. Keep it simplistic, straightforward, and to the point. Don’t be mean about it, they don’t know that what they’re doing is bothering you. Surely they meant it as a joke or something of that nature.

After approaching them about it, they still continue then I think it’s time to get some new friends. These can’t possibly be good friends if they can’t even respect your choice of music.
