How come when ever I bleach my hair it never gets blond?

I don’t get it! I just bleached my very light brown hair last night and left it in for about 15 minutes and It never got lighter at all!!! I thought bleach made things whiter!!! Anyway I’m 14 and my parents will not let me even get high light!! Uhhh any tips??? Thanks soo much!!!

you might need to leave in longer try it on your ends first because if you leave it in for too long, on the top it will damage your hair and could cause it to fall out. Also you need bleach that is ment for hair and not for clothes if you get it really blond you can dye it a funky color with kool aid :)

well ask your mom really nice if you can dye your hair. Bleach dont really help for dark hair.

Are you using hair bleach? Proper bleach?

Never, ever leave it in for longer than it says on the box. If you are bleaching on the top of your hair, you need to blow hot air from a hair dryer on it for like 3 minutes, then wait 3 mins, then hot for 3 mins etc. Most bleaches work off heat and if your own body heat wont work, then use a hair dryer.

Hi (= Well it does, but… did you maybe use bleach that wasn’t made for hair or something? If you did use hair bleach, make sure that the peroxide and bleach packet are mixed to about halves( so the mixture is about as thick as yogurt). I did it on a friend like last week. And it didnt change her haircolor because it was to watery. No, liquidy… (there was no water lol).
