I’ve had my orchid for about a year. It was bloomed when it was given to me as a gift. Since then, it hasn’t bloomed. It’s in dirt in indirect sunlight, and I live in a warm climate. I let the rain water it. What should I do to help it bloom?
i believe your orchid is planted in a pot right?
well, regardless of the planting location, i will want to tell u using the engineering sense. Most of us know the plants need N (nitrogen), P (phosphorus) and K (potassium) but not many knows that the plant actually need another crucial element, which is S (sulphur). Can't explain the importance of Sulphur here. What i would suggest is that you buy a high analysis fertiliser with NPKS content, not just NPK.
If you don't want to buy any fertiliser then use some chicken or small animal manure...
Hope this helps.
You need to get your orchid out of soil.... never plant it in soil it will die quickly....... Plant the orchid in bark and put the potted orchid on a pebbled tray with a little water in the tray just up to the rim of the bottom of the pot....... Put the orchid in the house on the south or east side of the house....... indirect light is the best it will soon take bloom...... There are websites you can look up and they are very helpful
