How can I teach myself to sing, I'm rubbish?

I don’t have enough money to have singing lessons and I don’t want my parents to pay for it, because they keep paying for me to do stuff. How can I teach myself to sing, I’m quite rubbish. And I don’t know how I know if I can hit the notes, or what my type of singing is… how could I teach myself?

I would try listening to a few girl songs but make sure you can hear and understand it clearly and try to memorize it, then sing lightly to them and keep doing this till you are ready to sing alittle louder and keep repeating till you think you have a good voice!

I am a singer also, and yah, you know if you can sing or not. Some people are naturals, and others take pro lessons. But :

Find a friend who can play piano. And just do little excersices accompanied by the piano, and work your way up. Have your friend play the scale for instance, and you can sing the notes, and if you are off tune/pitch/key/note, fix it. =]

Hey… like you I have a voice to sing and really when you can sing you can sing. But you have to learn to see tones to hear the music and to learn to go along whit it.

Know this might sound wierd, but holding your breath in and letteing it out slowly helps!! I know it sounds like 0.o what! but really that air helps your diapram, and the diaphram helps the voice increase in highness, it helps you to hit the vribrato sound and makes your voice go in all octives you would like.

Do octives that go from high to low, like the obove, buy cd’s that teach you all that and you can practice whit and all.

GOOD LUCK:)

Heyy,

Im a singer myself and usually if you can sing, you know it right from the moment you hold a tune.

My voice used to be quite weak but since I’ve had professional lessons it become much stronger. So I suggest that.

Or if you want something free, go on the internet and look for some breathing exercises.

My last of my suggestions I say buy a CD that teaches you to sing.

I hope I helped.
