I've been advising people here on how to just stay positive and stuff when I myself isnt...so how can I stay positive when it comes to my own predicament?
This may or may not help you, (and the person I heard it from said it a lot better than I'm about to), but about 90% of all suffering is in your head. Ok yes, technically all suffering is in your head but 90% of that is worrying about stuff you have no control over. So what if he leaves me, what if I get fired, just a whole bunch of what ifs... If you try and focus on the problem at hand (I have a paper to hand in at 5, vs. what if I dont hand it in and lose my job) that cuts down on a whole lot of bad thinking... Worry about and feel bad about whatever is happening in the moment, and dont try and prophesize how bad it's going to be tomorrow...

In order to be positive about your predicament, you first have to "consider" as many possible outcomes as possible. Figure out what you would probably do in worst case scenarios.
Once you have done that it is easier to stay positive because you know you can deal with whatever comes along.
Always remember, you can always find a positive outcome from anything if you are willing to look for it.
Try to do something different every day...and never think too much at the same thing..try to make by pleasure the most things you do. Chat with as many people as you can...you may learn from that many things...read "good" books... things like that...
Ups and downs are common to ALL of us - just determine yourself to stay positive 1 day at a time and continue to help/encourage others here - you never know, your advice offered that day just might 'right their ship' !!
it all starts off in the brain, by thinking positive!! you'll fell positive!! and be positive!! - avoid all negativity! - and go for what you believe in/know is right =)
