First, be thankful that your parents are trying to teach you an adult lesson -- meaning working for what you want. That is an important lesson they are teaching you.
Get your parents' permission, then ask adults you know (friends and family) if you can clean their house for them. When you do, ask them to be there while you clean, and tell them you are a hard worker, but not experienced, so you'll need them to tell you how to clean. They will probably be glad to help you earn some money. Charge them about $5.00 for every good, hard hour that you work. DO NOT charge them for the time you are talking to them, or not working. They will probably offer to pay you more and, if they do, take the extra money and genuinely say "thank you." That's all you need to say. And it's okay to tell them you are trying to earn money to buy an IPOD.
When you are working for someone, ALWAYS do your best, and do MORE than they expect from you. Be pleasant, and do not chat too much with them.
Please get your parents' permission BEFORE you promise to do any work for other people. From what you said, I think your parents will be very proud of your creativity and initiative.
right now im 16 I started working when I was 12 at my moms restraunt I work three days a week probally come home with 200$ a week probally I save all of it but I keep up my tips this is all I have I bought everything but my hdtv 28 inch I have and 360 with modded controller 13 games for that mainly all of them cost 60$ like 3 mics chat pad camera for xb a psp go and nintendo dsi a 32 gb ipod touch a ps3 with 17 games 3 controllers camera wireless mic laptop mac book pro and my wii with everything that it came with I did the total one day what I spent on all that and its about around like $3000 and right now I have like 4k in my bank so I would say your parents are doing you a favor for teaching you a lesson and if you just keep working you will have both the one thing you want by probally 1 and a half months if you work at a place I would prefera fast food place so yea hope this helps you in the near future and thank your parents.
