How can I get rid of crabs?

I have an itch down there now and I am afraid it is crabs. I got it from a toilet seat. Can I shave to get rid of them? Or should I try to burn or smoke them out.

I have never had crabs before, but I know it is crabs because of the description I read on Wikipedia. I used a public restroom some time back so they must have been dormant and came to life later.

I am not going to the doctor. I want to nip this one myself without all the embarassing questions.

Please help?

Hey, you did NOT get them from a toilet seat, so stop fooling yourself, or us.

Ask your pharmacist for the cream, (same as the medication for lice, but gentler because you are using it on a more sensitive part of your body) and you need to treat all your clothes, hair, linen, and sexual partners. If your partner has given you oral sex, they need to treat their facial hair too, and don’t forget THEIR sex partners besides you.

(Actually if anyone gave me crabs I’d cut them loose, but that’s just me)

Copied from website;

Treatment Standard therapy

permethrin 1% cream rinse topical from chest to knees washed off after 10 minutes with repeated treatment 1 week later (ADEC B2)

Permethrin should be applied to clean and cool skin. The patient should not take a hot bath or shower prior to treatment.

Apply to infected and adjacent hairy areas

Nits should be removed with a fine toothed comb.

Sex partners should be treated concurrently.

Clothing and bed linen contaminated by the patient within the past 2 days should be washed and dried by machine (hot cycle) or dry cleaned.

If the eyelashes are infested, white soft paraffin (Lacri-Lube) can be applied to the lashes, and then the eggs removed, twice a day. This treatment should be continued for 7 to 10 days.

You Cant Get Them From A Tolit Seat because They Would Only Get On The Tolit Seat If They Were Hurt Dead Or Dying, So They Wouldent Be Able To Hold On The The Tolit Seat Either, And Try Getting Some Cram And A Nit Com

Answer #7

Actually you can get crabs, otherwise known as pubic lice, from towels, toilet seats–sexual intercourse is not the only way to get crabs. There is a special medication that you will be given by your doctor to wash and kill the lice. This is very similar to the lice that people get in their hair on the their heads. This is a very itchy, maddening condition, so if you can’t go to your family doctor, Planned Parenthood can help you.
