How to force myself to stop leaving homework to the last minute?

Some of the above may be helpful but I think it is best done to music. But do it right away… before you even pour yourself a soda or reach for the cookie jar - get the homework out - put the music on - do it… then you will be FREE ! ! !

I have always had the same problem with procrastination. What you need to do is find a source of motivation, such as hanging out with your friends. Set up some type of rewards program for yourself, and then stick to it. For example, if you get your homework done right after school, then you can hang out with your friends. If you don’t get it done, then don’t hang out. It’s hard, but trust me, you need to solve this problem now and do NOT let it continue. Procrastination is a very hard habit to break, and it will affect your life.

Well, you said it all really…if you get it done right away, you can go out with your mates after. Think of it as a part time job you have to go to after school - two hours is really not that long of a time, and once you get the homework done, think of the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel. Also you’ll have a lot less stress and you’ll be able to enjoy yourself more.
