how can I find out the actual name behind an aim screen name ?
People have been instant messaging me on aim and I don’t recall the screen name. By the time I notice that someone is instant messaging me, it is too late to ask because they have already signed off. Does anyone know how to find out the actual name behind the screen name?
Not necessarily, if you’re sure you know them, you’d need to figure out the email that matched their screen name - they have a search for that.
However, what you’re describing sounds like drive by IM spam, which happens a lot on AIM and odds are it’s not necessarily somebody you really know.
