How can I convince my Dad to let me get home schooled?

I just recently had to transfer schools and I was wondering how to convince my Dad to let me get home schooled because I hate my new school. The kids there are horrible!

I think that it is going to be your life that you live and you should get to choose what you want to do with your life. Homschooling is good and school is good. If it was up to me I would let my child pick what they want to do.

man…for me homeschooling wasnt that great….i did it for all the wrong reasons….just becuz u hate the ppl that you go to school with doesnt mean homeschooling is a good choice..its kind of like the real world. Would you quit a job because you dont like the ppl that you work with? Most of the time a regular school can provide learning that ur parents cannot. my mom is horrible at school and when we tried it i went back to my public school in about a month. Maybe the reason that ur dad doesnt want u to be homeschooled is because he doesn’t feel that he knows the things ur having to learn or that you wont do as well later in life.. right now i am doing higher level things in my school than average and that was the reason my mom sent me back…just try asking him..and if ppl there are as bad as u make them seem maybe its just that u need to try to get along and deal with it and if that doesnt work try going to a principle to help work out the problems that you have with other students? i hope this helps but im srry if it doesnt

Homeschooling is a big responsibility for your dad. It becomes his job to be sure you are learning. Different states have different rules but some places the administrative hassle of homeschooling is a big deal.

I think homeschooling is great and I plan on homeschooling my daughter but it isn’t for everyone.

If you are truely motivated to homeschool than you should research the laws in your state, curricula, achievement levels of homeschools vs. public schoolers, etc. Make a case based on facts rather than your dislike of your classmates and you will have a much higher chance of success.

Where I live community colleges have open enrolement starting at 15. The nice thing about finishing up your education at a community college is that you will get dual credit; you will fulfill your high school education while accumulating credits toward your college degree. Of course I don’t know your age or proximity to community colleges so this could be moot.
