How can websites that have been visited and then deleted from a computer's history be retrived?
Well, you cannot find index.that files on a standard search of your computer. They are very hidden files, and are system files. They are stored on your computer, and record all of your internet history, whether you clear your temporary internet history or not. Index.that files are very hard to delete manually, but you can download software that delete or overwrite them, one I suggest is Mil Shield. It is very effective.
System Restore can and usually does restore previous history. (Not the most pratical)
Index.that files are saved all over your computer.
Search all files and folders. Then click advanced search options and click System Files, HIdden Files & folders, Subfoldes. And search for all index.that files.
You will need a index.that reader. Just google "index.that reader" and d/l.
history is just basic files which once deleted can be restored pretty easy with teh right software...
I used to use 'Restore' which isnt made anymore
