Well the way to stop everything going wrong is to make sure you only invite people you trust. Text or e-mail invites to your friends and you should get a rough idea of how many will come- you could tell them they are allowed to invite a friend, but that way you may end up having people show up who are untrustworthy so it is your choice if you want to risk it.

I would say lock any valuables that are out on surfaces away and maybe make a rule such as upstairs being off limits or so on.Set up a party area in the back garden where mess won’t matter so much (hopefully it won’t rain) and have a reliabe adult or older friend who is aware what will be going on and can come around if you have any trouble.

Provide lots of soft drinks as well as any alcohol you may have and maybe make up some nice bowls of fruit punch so hopefully people won’t get too drunk. Provide snacks and maybe a barbeque or something too, so people have food in their stomach to help absorb the alcohol.

Have a clear cut off time which people are told in advance (you can lie and say your parents are out for the night but will be back by 2 or something) and make sure you retain a fairly clear head yourself so you can keep an eye on things.

Keep music to a mid volume so neighbours should not complain and everything should go ok =) have fun.
