Who would win this match-up; William Wallace or Maximus? And how would they do it?

I select William Wallace over Maximus. Basically, though one was human and one a fictional character, I take a good vs evil (or insane) stand. Maximus is working for the benefit of one…Maximus. While Wallace was working for the benefit of others. That strength of character gives an edge. In a match, I still select Wallace. I believe he would be more focused to the matter at hand, while Maximus would have trouble maintaining the same level of concentration. It only takes a moment, when your opponent’s mind wanders, to win.
