I have a teenage son and I am concerened about him looking on web sights that he should not be on but he keeps deleting information but surely there is somewhere else I can look. Thank you
There is, information is never completely gone, but I dont know how much an amateur would be able to check on it (you'd need a computer savvy person to help you out on that). There is also computer software that will help you monitor where he goes. http://www.monitoringsoftwarereviews.org/
I do want to add though, you can control where he goes online in your house, but you're not going to be able to control where he goes online outside your house... You may want to consider another tactic...
it depends on what kind of computer you have but on mine even if you delete the history you can still find it on your favourites so just click on favourites and there shoul be a little box at the top that says feeds and history and click on the history and its supposed say view by date click on the date and it will show you everything that was used that day (even the searches on google) but thats how my internet is I have yahoo
You can also disable certain functions within his user profile, so that he will not be able to delete his browsing history. You should be the only one with admin privileges on that computer, and make sure that he cannot easily guess your password.
if you are the computer administator (meaning you have your own password protected user account) then you can set it up under control panel to see his most recently visited websites and his top ten most visited websites.
You can try a system restore if you have it enabled...go back to the time just before your son got off the computer
start menu > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore
block all web sites that are bad
