Why is my girlfriend's period irregular?

hey. hope u still can remember me. well, i had ask my gf to went for a pregtest n the result is negative..she went to a chinese traditional doctor n he said that her digestion system is preventing her to have her period..well she eventually finished all her medications n also ate some hormone pills..she finally had her period on 13th of july. but then it only lasted awhile n stopped.. please advise.. thanks a lot..if can..reply me to my email sephiroth_2020@hotmail.com

I am not sure. There’s a good chance that everything will be fine. However, I don’t know enough about digestive disorders impacting menstruation to say for sure or even to give you more information on it. So the only thing I can say is to talk to the doctor or to talk to another doctor for a second opinion.

it’s unusual for her n she’s getting worried about her health. she’s been eating stuff like pineapple n so on so on..it did not help..she did not show any symptoms of being preg.. is it alright?

It sounds like something she should let the doctor know. She could call her doctor and tell him how long her period lasted and ask if that amount of time is normal considering her situation and medication. The average period lasts about three to five days, but since her period is so unusual, that might not apply to her.

I see you’ve already had several answers to this question. I have to say, being a female who used to have irregular periods, that it could be anything, most of which are not serious at all. Stress can make a person’s period fluctuate as well as hormones. Getting on birth control can greatly diminish the irregularity of her period. Now if she’s already on her period, or it is accompanied by strange discharge, she should see her gynecologist as soon as possible in case it’s something more serious. I hope this helped!

At the end there, I meant to say that if she is already on BIRTH CONTROL, that she should see the gynecologist. Just thought I’d edit!
