Herpes Virus In The Head?

I have been having terrible headaches, right between my eyes.

Eventually, under skin swelling devlops somewhere on my nose. This is NOT a pimple. These lumps are SO PAINFUL I think the entire side of my head will come of, and they rarely, if ever, become a thing that drains out or a woound of any kind.

If I dare to touch the lump, the pain shoots back from the lump directly to the center of the headache.

This is REALLy difficult to live with. The only info I can find on Herpes Virus and the head ( I had an Epstein-Barr exposure somewhere in the past two years while in Asia) is herpetic encephalitis…but by the time you know you have that, you are dying.

Has anyone ever heard of a stage in between, during which the virus lives in the skull?

Hey thanks for the quick answer.

Sinus CT already scheduled for tomorrow.

Do you have a link to any info on shingles presenting inside the head?

I keep having the feeling that what is thought to be sinus infection is actually lesions that are coming and going…like the lumps on my nose…only INSIDE the sinus.

Doubtful this would show on a CT.

Thanx again…

go to an emergency room for a sinus x-ray.. preferably while you have the symptoms…if you have the herpes virus and its in the head area it usually presents as shingles…you probably have a really bad sinus infection…I know a gal who was hospitalized for 8 days this year from one…almost killed her…yup sinuses..anyway try to see a doc asap …good luck
