You need to trim it. I am a hairstylist and i trim mine every 3 to 4 weeks and i mean just the very tips i find that doing so every 3 to 4 weeks is good because you get them right before they become full on split ends. Also most people don't get their hair cut because they are "trying to grow it out" The average person grows half and inch of hair per month so if you go and get split ends they are going to be splitting up and breaking off causing you to have to cut more hair. Another thing is if you ask your stylist to trim an inch every time you go in your losing that half and inch each month thus slowing down the "growing out procces" So i would go get your split ends trimmed off and if you are trying to grow out your hair then get the very ends trimmed often and you will see results. My hair is very very long and healthy due to this. My lil sister couldn't grow her hair past her shoulders and when she moved in with me i did this for her and her hair is now 3 inches past her shoulder blades just in time for her wedding :)
i dont think there are ways to help stop split ends but the best way to prevent split ends is once every 6 weeks get ur hair a trim around 1 inch at the same time ur hair grows faster split ends slows hairgrowth down. (hope this helps u)
Jazlovestoskate is right, the only way to get rid of them is to keep your hair trimmed. You know what they say though, the best offense is a good defense, meaning use conditioners and heat protectant when using heat styling tools.
unfortunanty, nothing can fix split ends. split hair is broken, hair cannot repair itself and grow back together once its split so the only way to get rid of a split end and to stop it from getting any worse, is to cut it off
