Help with D-Day article...please

I’m writing a newspaper article that takes place after D-Day so my time frame around June, July of 1944. I have all of my information, but I’m totally lost on how to write it. I only have a few sentences… On June 6th, 1944, Allies invaded the coast of Normandy, France. Four star General Dwight D. Eisenhower, led the assault on Nazi occupied France. “We will accept nothing less than full victory,” these words spoken by General Eisenhower in a letter written to the allies. Eisenhower was chosen by Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Omaha, Juno, Sword, Gold and Utah were the beaches to be invaded.

All of the info jumps around and it sounds bad. I wil be editing when I finish, but I just really need help. It’s due tomorrow. I was stupid to wait till now, but now I learned lol. So please help. Thanks! :)
