Help with breastfeeding!!!

Im pregnant with my first child, im wondering if I should breastfeed? I’ve heard that it’s very painful. But then I’ve heard that it makes you loose the weight faster and that its healthy for the baby. So does it hurt? Is this a good idea?

Ya when I gave birth they sent in a lady to help me learn how to breastfeed the correct way so the baby will latch on. I only breastfed my daughter for about 2 months but the same thing happened to me as the lady above…I didn’t have that much milk supply and my daughter just wasn’t really taking to it but if this is your first child I would def recommend at least trying it. If you don’t like you can always switch to formula or even do both.

Breastfeeding is totally your decision, but since you have never breastfed, you should definitely give it a try. I tried it and unfortunately I did not get a much milk so I stopped, it could have been that my baby did not latch on properly which also made my breasts hurt like crazy, I also try the electric pumps but not even 1 ounce of milk would come out so I stopped. Maybe you have better luck, but I have heard you lose your baby fat fast and that any liquid that does come out from you is great for your baby! Good Luck and also check with your hospital they have a group called La Leche League and I am sure they can give you good advise!!

Breastfeeding is not at all painful unless the baby has not latched on properly - as a matter of fact, I can think of nothing that feels more natural and soothing than nursing your child.

It does help you get back to your pre-pregnancy weight quicker, and there are more than just healthy benefits for the child. It’s also convenient (milk is always available and at the right temperature) and it’s a great way to bond with your child. It’s also free! Formula is terribly expensive.

Oubviusly I have not had a child but now lots of people who do. Breast milk is the most natural best thing for a new born and gives it the best start in life. not only that but it also does make you loose the weight faster. I’ve never heard of it being painfull though. If I was you I would do it.
