He's Obviously Really Shy. (But So am I...)

Okay, so there is this guy that likes me.

He is obviously really shy because everyday his friends say, “Today’s the day man, today’s the day,” whenever he walks past me to go sit down in our painting class. He always like sits down and just says, “No, today’s not the day, I can’t you don’t know how I feel.” And his friends just give him a hard time and tell him that he has “no balls” and might as well stop trying and that they are just going to buy him a nblowup doll for a girlfriend. Lol, his friends talk to him like I’m not in the room! I think it’s funny when they say stuff about him liking me right in front of me, like I’m deaf or not paying attention. One day I was walking to gym class and he was in front of me with his friends and he decided to walk backwards and TRY to say something but instead he just ended up like opening and closing his mouth and then turning back around. Oh my Gosh! His friends even gave him a little “pep talk” during lunch and were trying to tell him what to say to me next time. Then finally when they were done he got up to go throw something away and they started clapping for him like “Yay! we got a plan for you! You can do it!” And during the whole time they were talking, his friend was staring at me and smiling while he was talking to the guy that likes me. And yesterday (Friday) his friends were telling him the whole “today’s the day thing” again and he’s like “I’m trying, I even walked backwards the other day! I’m trying..” And the only thing that happened that whole hour was that I smiled at him the first time and he was like really surprised and smiled back, then a couple times more we smiled at eachother. But you could still tell he was too nervous to talk to me. Haha, I don’t know what to do really. He really likes me and I think he’s cute, and I guess I’m beggining to like him to. So he knows I know that he likes me because one of my friends is his best friends girlfriend. (Sorry if that didn’t make sense) It’s so obvious, and damn cute I must admit because he’s so nervous and shy. Shyer than me and thats kinda weird but this girl told me that he’s not shy with his friends but he is around a girl that he really likes. Which is me. Then she was just telling me things that he was saying to her about me. Like “she’s so frickin pretty.” I was happy of course, I’ve never had a boyfriend before and I’m not ugly or anything I’m just shy. Just today I got my computer back from getting fixed and I checked my myspace and everything and I saw that he put me as his 4th friend of like 30 on there already, lol I was flattered but we havent talked in person yet. Lmao. This one day I smiled at him again in the hallway and like 10 minutes later my friend comes up to me and says, “Brasco came up to me and said I smiled at her Krysta! I smiled at her.” Lmao, I just thought that was cute and funny. (Brasco is his nickname not his actual name btw)

How should I deal with this whole situation??? It’s like sooo … I dont know, making me nervous and feel weird whenever Im in that class. I mean I like him too kinda, he’s 16 (sophmore) and I’m 17 (senior) Im one of the younger seniors. Sorry this bounced around kinda but I didn’t know how to write it all down and stuff. It makes me nervous everyday in that class. But then I see him and it’s like… whoa. Lol. I felt like saying to him one day, “So is today the day?” (to talk to me) But I thought that might be stupid or make him more nervous. Ugh, I dont know when I would say it either, I dont really want to in front of all his friends.
