Why haven't I had my period in over 50 days, is it normal?

Answer #1

It’s not uncommon to skip a period every so often, but if there’s a reason you think you might be pregnant, it wouldn’t hurt to have a pregnancy test done.

Answer #2

I took one about 3 days ago, it was negative. Should I take another in about a week or 2? I have also been experiencing weird feelings in my lower abdomen, right around my bellybutton (about an inch or lees below it) I feel a burning or tickling sensation, it’s been happening off and on for a few days now. Also, slight cramping on my right side of my abdomen. None of this is “painful” it’s just noticeable, and feels weird. Also, when I press in, about less than an inch below my bellybutton, and slightly over to the left, it’s hard.

Answer #3

If your period is that late and a pregnancy test is coming up negative, you might want to see the doctor so he can request a blood test instead - pregnancy tests done with blood are more accurate.

Answer #4

Last time I went to my doctor for a blood pregnancy test, he wouldn’t give me one, he instead gave me a urine test. They told me urine tests are just as accurate, and they only give blood tests when someone had a positive urine test to see how far along they are, or to confirm the results of the urine test.

Answer #5

No offense, but your medical system is weird, lol…well, obviously something is not right here - the missed period is only one thing… there are other symptoms you have that need considering. Go back to the doctor and keep going back until he takes the time to figure out what’s going on. My gosh, but doctors have gotten lazy over the years.

Answer #6

yes, I agree, I honestly can’t stand the doctor’s around here. My doctor is very rude, and a smart@$$. He p!sses me off every time I go there! That last time I went for a blood test and he gave me the urine test, when it came back negative, he simply said “ahh, it probably a stomach virus.” and sent me on my way, he didn’t even prescribe any medication for a stomach virus or anything.

Answer #7

One thing to think about - your doctor works for YOU…he gets paid to listen to you and treat you…don’t put up with his attitude. Too many doctors think they can treat people poorly because they have their education. Go back to him and demand that he look further into this….if you’re having pain in the side of your abdomen, it could signify an ectopic pregnancy which does not always show up on a urine test.

Answer #8

Well, I wouldn’t call it pain, because it doesn’t hurt. It just feels something like a cramp, but no where near as much pain. It is just very slight cramp feeling. I don’t know if this is all in my head or what. I feel somewhat like I could be pregnant, but I have felt that way so many times before, and taken so many HPT’s and they always come out negative. I have probably taken 15 or more in the past 4-6months. I want to be pregnant, but at the same time I don’t because I am so young, and would need a lot of help financially from family and state.

Answer #9

I am not sure whether I should waste the doctor’s time, or whether I should just keep taking HPT’s. I have one left, I was thinking about taking it in a week or two.

Answer #10

You could take another pregnancy test, try different brands just to be sure.
