No you didn’t break your laptop. It just might have the virus and maybe you need to take it to a technician to see if they can fix that. Don’t keep turning it on and off when it is still processing because you might upset it even more. I own a laptop myself and I’ve done that once where I turned it on when it was about to load up but, then I shut it off and when I turned it back on again, I kind of upset it by having it want to restore since the computer itself wouldn’t start. Everything’s fine. Your computer crashed and has the virus. The only ways that you could break your laptop is by, droping, smashing, and etc. (In fact, I’m on my laptop right now! I don’t own a desktop since those take too much space so, this is my first laptop that I ever had. Well, I wish you luck.

It sounds like a virus - but I don’t think you should rule out the fact that something might have shorted when you switched it off in the middle of booting up. You should ALWAYS let a computer fully boot up before switching it off. As a fully qualified technicial I would recommend downloading an antivirus called Avast (this is free and can be downloaded from download.com by searching for “Avast”) - putting it a disk - starting your laptop in safe mode (someone explained this above) and installing Avast - When installing Avast it will give you an option to scan your computer when windows boots up, so the next time you switch your laptop on (not every time) it will scan before it loads windows files - this will prevent any viruses you might have from spreading. If it detects no viruses then it is possible you have caused some hardware damage - in which case the laptop would need to go to a technician for analysis. Good luck - let me know how you get on & if you have any questions.

When you start the computer hit f8 till you get to a window you can boot it in safe mode. . see if it will start in safemode. . You may have just confused the start up commands. . this should straighten them out.
