Has anyone tried Lyrica?

I have Fibromyalgia and I have been seeing commercials on television about a new medication called Lyrica that is supposed to work wonders for Fibromyalgia patients. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and does it work well for you? How bad are the side effects? The commercial says it can have some pretty bad ones and that is why I am hesitant to try it. I just want to find out all I can before I ask my doctor for it. The pharmaceutical companies are just so quick to throw meds in our faces without knowing the long-term effects, but to know there is a medicine out there that combats all the symptoms of Fibromyalgia…well, I just want to know more about it. That’s all.

Dear spiralbutterfly, Fibromyalgia is a symptom of something wrong in your system. Doctors use the word because they are really unsure what your problem is. If you look at the host of symptoms they use to diagnose it you will find that it’s huge. Meaning that anyone could be diagnosed with Fibro. So by treating your system and getting it healthy is the best way to treat the symptoms. You do this by changing your diet to a totally healthy one, you need to exercise…even if you feel tired. This increases the natural pain killers in your body. Check for food and environment allergies. Basically you want to improve your immune system. Yes companies are quick to throw meds and doctors are quick to diagnose Fibromyalgia. Sue…good luck
