Has anyone else been in the psych ward?

So I feel as though I am a total crazy because I had to go to the uofm psyc ward for attempt at suicide… Am I the only one?

Answer #1

I haven’t been in a pych ward but I did spend 9 moths in a state hospital for substance abuse.

Answer #2

Lol, yeah, been there before (really stupid though, it wasnt a suicide attempt but the drs wouldnt believe me) but yeah it was one of those community psych wards (so really not a nice place), your not crazy…

Answer #3

No. you are not alone by far. You are not crazy. You just have some problems that you couldn’t handle right then. I’m glad that you are getting help. Good Luck!!

Answer #4

You’re not crazy cause of a suicide attempt, you’re not crazy at all, you just have some “unresolved issues” like everyone, maybe yours right now are a little bit more “serious” (I had them too, I tried to committe suicide too), but trust me, right now maybe you feel like nothing’s never going to “be ok” or you just feel like everything’s wrong and depressive, I’ve been there, trust me you’re going to get throught this stage; just because they took you to the psyc ward doens’t mean you’re crazy, cause your not, those places tend to make people feel that way, but the important thing during this whole “stage” is that you never stop “believeing in yourself” and always know that you are NOT crazy. Attempting suicide and suicidal ideas happen to a lot more people that you can imagine, and just because they go through that doesn’t mean they are crazy. hope this helped. ps: You’re not crazyyy!!!

no… we all have our ‘dark spots’ in life I’ve attemped suicide too but no one knew so I wasnt put into a psyche ward… anyway my sis went there ironically and it was a great healing experience I think theres no shame in needing help for a clinical health problem well…uh…chin up! lol :) ps:its not you thats crazy its the rest of the world :P

Answer #6

Your not crazy for being in there. Lots of people have those episodes and end up in wards. My boss had one and went for a month. He is a normal guy to most but I know what he really goes through. Just try to get some help love kay. xx

Answer #7

been there, done that. consider your visit as the first step to becoming better- and facing your personal demons. it was an eye opening experience for me knowing that there was a door that I just couldn’t open and walk through, but I eventually gave up drinking and cutting - and I attribute my psyche ward experience as my wake up call. so begin the process of taking care of your problems- and no you are not crazy for going there.

Answer #8

I was put in there too for the same thing. your not alone.

Answer #9

I’ve gone back too… so yeah your not alone…
