Hard to talk to people

Why would people be embarrassed to talk to you? I’m trying to think of a situation in which the person was so awful I’d actually be embarrassed to be seen with them, and I cannot even picture that… Are there people you’d be embarrassed to be seen talking to?

So which is it, can you not talk to people, or do you talk to your co-workers? Or perhaps your co-workers are not people? If you have the ability to talk to your co-workers, then you have the ability to talk to other people. There’s nothing special about your co-workers. And what exactly is the worst thing that could happen if someone didnt like you? You’ll move on and keep looking till someone does like you. I honestly doubt it will be that hard to find someone.

To get past a phobia, the only thing to do is exposure… which means go do the thing you’re afraid of. Make up a hierarchy of situations that are scary, from less scary to most scary. Then start with the least scary one. And work your way up. And I’ve learnt something, sometimes you’ll say something, and people will respond positively, sometimes they’ll ignore you or act like they have no clue why you’re talking to them. And it’s ok. A lot of these people, you’ll never see again. So who cares. And for the people you’ll see numerous times, you can always fix a bad first impression. So either way, it’s ok.
