What happened to the roll of film?

I’m using 35mm fuji superia 200 film. My cousin clicked the rewind button on my camera because he was ‘curious’ and the film was rewinding. I didnt know what to do so i opened the back of the camera because i was stupid and i thought i could unrewind the film. it was exposed to light for about 1-2 minutes, does this mean the whole film is ruined? or can i continue shooting and experimenting? and does this mean that the previous shots i took are ruined? thanks!

Answer #1

The photos that were on the area of exposed film may be damaged, but the rest of the film should still be fine. However, you’re going to be taking photos over top of photos because the used film has been rewound.

Answer #2

so does that mean if i take photos they will look something like this [link removed] ?

Answer #3

i mean will the pictures look like they have double exposures?

Answer #4

They may, yes…I can’t guarantee that will happen

Answer #5

Everything in the cannister should be OK. Everything else is ruined (definitely after 2 minutes). You should not shoot any more pictures on that roll or you will probably run the pictures you already took that were preserved in the cannister.
