Does this usually happen to everyone or am I overly pessimistic?

Well, I get very negative thoughts and start to worry about my life and my dear ones ALL OF THE SUDDEN!! I am a pessimist by nature. I am trying a lot think positively but in vain. I am female, my age is 22. No incidents which would make me think negative have happened in my life so far. Why could it happen to me like this?? Thanks a lot.

I’m like that too. I’m pessimistic by nature, even when I was younger. Are you surrounded by negative people? Or people with a negative influence. Perhaps affected by someone else’s experiences. Or perhaps just under a lot of stress and strain? For myself, I think I was just born like this haha, ontop of that, my parents were the “Chinese tiger parents” so most the times, in hopes of motivating me to do good, I was consistently put down. Maybe you were just born like that, maybe it’s from the negativity surrounding you, maybe you’re just under a lot of stress. Only you will know really.

You could very well be a pessimist, but I don’t think this has anything to do with your sudden negative thoughts. It could be that you are expecting your life to be a certain way by now and things just may not be happening as fast as you want them to. When this happens we have a tendency to think worst case scenario. It happens to me ALL the time especially on the dating scene. I might call a girl I’m interested in and if she doesn’t answer and I don’t hear back within a certain time frame… Immediately it’s over, she must hate me! Soon as I start freaking out… she calls.. lol

Some people can’t go through life without waiting for “thee other shoe to drop” particularly when things are going good. It’s living life in your unknown future and ignoring your now moment. 90 % of what we fear never materializes…. but we stress over the “what if’s” anyway, and ignore what’s good about the now moments. I used to be that way too, however, when I realized I had a worth and truly believed in my own value of self, is then when I spent more time focused on the enjoying of now and detaching from those futuristic doubts of gloom and doom. They creep in now and then, but I recognize them and switch to what is postive now. I’m a believer you attract the energy you embrace to you.
