If you leave your tongue out dry, can you or your tongue die?

Answer #1

Haha where’d that question come from lol I def can’t answer that! Haha

Answer #2

Your tongue is not a fish, it doesnt take in oxygen through liquid, why would it die? It would just get very uncomfortable for you.

Answer #3

The only thing that will happen, is you will lose your sense of taste. Saliva helps facilitate your taste buds… by not allowing your saliva to come in contact with your tongue, you are basically shutting down your taste buds.

As soon as you allow your tongue to come back into contact with your saliva, you will be able to taste again. It won’t cause any permanent damage.
