hamster just sits there for 30 mins...?

hi quite a lot of the time I notice my hamster just sitting there doing nothing and for half an hour she was just sitting there next to her wheel, nothing bad but just wondering why? and how could you sit there for 30 mins!

yes karate_kid_52 I would get another hamster but it was hard enough being allowed to have one! anyway im pretty sure they would just fight, my current hamster is a syrian and I’ve had 3 before and none of them put together was good

My hamster Andy used to do that. The vet suggested getting her a friend (another hamster) for company, so I got another one, Tilly. Now Andy seems happier and they both seem to enjoy the company. You could also try letting her out of her cage sometimes for a change of scenery. Just make sure it’s in a secure area so she can’t escape, and try placing some familiar objects, such as bedding, into the area where you put her, so she won’t be scared. Sometimes I set up obstacle courses for my hamsters, like paper towel roll tunnels and stuff, and they seem to like those. It isn’t good for a hamster to have nothing to do for too long. It’s just what hamsters do sometimes. My hamster can sit in the corner of her cage for up to an hour just grooming herself :) But if you notice she looks tierd and maybe wobbles a lot when she walks you should take her to see a vet because she might be sick.
