What do i tell the hairdresser when i go to my hairdresser to get a emo/scene haircut?

Answer #1

Just ask for a long sweeping side fringe with choppy short layers. A better thing to do though is to bring a picture in of the haircut you want then you can be even more sure the hairdresser will get it right

As a stylist, I’ve done many scene haircuts. BRING A PICTURE! Make sure they know you do not want layering, but a chopped, two level haircut. It’s short hair sitting on top of long hair with just a veeeery slight slight blend.

Go a real salon (not great clips, not fantastic sams! When you call to make the appointment, ask the receptionist to book you with someone who is familiar with cutting scene/emo hair. Keep in mind, receptionists are often trained just to hand new clients over to whomever has room in their schedule and to promise you anyone you are booked with will do a good job.

The absolute, no fail way to do get scene hair is to walk up to someone who has the haircut you want and get her stylist’s info! We stylist shove our business cards down people’s throats and live off of referrals. So try this first!
