How can I get my hair feeling smooth and soft instead of dry and bland?

I found out that my hair always feels dry and puffy after I take a shower and blow-dry it. How can I stop my hair from feeling or looking this way? Any home remedies or advise?

Answer #3

Blow drying is really bad for your hair. Maybe tart using argan oil based conditioners ? Anything with argan oil helps a lot.

Answer #4

I work in a hair dressers and we use Morrocan Oil when people have dry hair so you could give that a go :) I use it and it works really well :)

Answer #5

I would not wash your hair for three days, then use ION conditioner or Argon. Which ever. You can also ask someone at a salon on what they think might help. Perhaps you need a leave-in conditioner. Try Sally’s beauty shop.

When you wash your hair, the shampoo takes away the dirt and oils but unfortunately it also takes away natural oils that give you soft hair, that’s why we use conditioner, to bring back those good oils that give your hair that shine. When you blow dry your hair, the heat kills those oils and takes away all moisture in the hair which is why it feels dry and looks dull and frizzy. You could try not blowdrying it, and letting it dry naturally. Natural drying is a lot better for the hair. You won’t see a huge difference the first time your hair dries naturally as it will take a few weeks for it to bounce back into the norm. In the meantime you could try a deep conditioner, a treatment, and have a trim on the ends.

Anything with moist(moisturising shampoo and conditioner) like a 2 in one brand of hair products. If you have used the same product for half the year or longer, try switching with other brand names. I’ve used VO5 then White Rain. Now I’ve been using Aussie ‘assume volume’, making my hair wavier, then I used the other source ‘moist’ which makes my hair more softer and less frizzy ;3

Deep condition. You don’t need to buy anything, just put your conditioner on your hair or ends like 15 mins before your shower, then wash it out and shampoo and condition like normal… You can also put vinegar. Yes kitchen vinegar in a spray bottle and spray your hair from time to time, doesn’t matter how much. And when it drys the smell is gone. I did that and my hair was amazingly soft and healthy

You need to put a treatment on your hair. I put one on everytime I take a show cause I know I’ll be straightening it after my shower & blow drying it. I would recommend getting. Ion repair solution (effective care treatment), It’s with the red writing, and you can get it at Sally’s beauty store. Even the next time I take a shower I can feel how smooth my hair is from the last time. It’s def long lasting. Another good treatment is Biolage Hydrating Conditioning Balm, which works amazing also. I do so much damage to my hair, that these things keep it smooth and nice. Also before you blow-dry or use any heat instruments on your hair use a heat protectent, Which I have just recently started using and have noticed a difference, a great one to use which smells amazing is Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray!!!!!
