Why does my hair fall flat in like 5 minutes when I tease it?

i have lots of layers in my hair and i put a lot of hairspray in but it still goes flat. :/

maybe your not getting it close enough to the roots?

Your hair needs alot of volume, try conditioning it and shampooing it to get volume then.

what i do is section a peice of hair tht you wanna get teased, hair spray, let it dry for a couple seconds and then tease and then section another peice beside or behind it and repeat. and then when its all done take one of those combs with the long end on it (i forgot what its called, sorry) and poke it in the teased part and lift to give it more volume and then more hairspray.. haha its alot but i hoped this helped!

Maybe you’re not teasing it enough, or maybe improperly, There’s a bit of an art to teasing hair. Watch a pro. I’ve seen a few good ones on youtube. (former hairdresser)

In order for your hair to tease and stay, it must NOT be clean (as in washed that day, or the day before). Clean hair won’t tease. When I do model/fashion/runway hair, the models are advised not to wash their hair in 3 days as there is virtually nothing you can do with clean hair.

Wouldn’t YOU want to fall flat if YOU got teased? No one likes being teased….. ^^^ My answer isn’t serious, so I would appreciate it if no one wrote “she meant…” I know what she meant. Just trying to have a little fun :)

hmph, i wash my hair everyday and teasing it works fine.. im not saying that tht doesnt work but wouldnt your hair look greasy and then you will have it teased so it would look like a greasy fuzz ball?

I didnt have a scene hair cut & my hair teased good. well i used a comb that has the teeth in it. & i would tease it really good. & bigg i barely used hair spray but i use aqua net & freeze spray by Got 2b. Now i got scene hair & it scenes harder to work with.. good luck

I have the same problem. I was told by a girl that was in cosmetology school that my hair was not “damaged enough” lol…I was like ummmm “isn’t that a good thing?” I think she was nuts.

It’s possible that you’re hair could be too thick. If you get your hair thinned and make it shorter up top and then make the bottom have longer layers it might work better & try a different hairspray brand.
