Hair dying advice..

Soo…my b-day is coming up soon [[june 20]]. And the theme is rockstar. And the girl rockstar I wanted to resemble is kerli. I have convinced my mum to dye my hair from home. And she has like platinum blonde hair. I have in the middle of dark and light brown hair. And I dont want to go to the salon because I would have to pay for it. And I only have 5$. But if I dye if from home..I dont have to pay for it. So I need some ways to dye my hair to a platinum blonde..but without screwin it up..or have it turn red/orange/anyother colour.

Maybe have some brands that really work and stays in for more than 3-6 weeks.

well there is no such thing as semi-permanent bleach.. so if you’re going platinum blonde it’s going to be there for a looong while. if your hair is naturally that dark brown color it might be a bit easier to achieve.. but if you hair has been color treated before it’ll be harder..

if you have virgin hair, I suggest getting “born blonde” or “frost & glow.” once you put the bleach in your hair put a plastic bag over the top of your head so it traps in the heat. leave it on for about 45 min to an hour.. and your hair will most likely be the pale yellow that you want.

now if you DON’T have virgin hair, and your hair has been dyed or color treated before, then it’s bad news for you.. you will most likely end up with bright orange hair and yellow roots. to get dyed brown hair to platinum blonde, you’ll have to bleach it about 3 or 4 times.. which is NOT a good idea. your hair will end up looking like fried bananas. BUT, if you’re willing to take that chance, definitely do not bleach your hair more then once in a day. if you really want this platinum blonde at home, then you’re going to have to live with bright orange/ yellow hair for 2 weeks. bleach your hair once every 5 days and do at least one deep conditioning treatment before each bleach job. and each time you bleach, put a plastic bag on your head to trap heat, and leave it in for 45 min to an hour. by the end of the 2 or 3 weeks your hair will be dry and crispy, but at least you’ll have the color you want. I’ve been down this road 2 times in the past year (lightening dark hair to blonde) and it is NOT fun.

that being said, it is best to go to a professional who can lighten it to platinum blonde in one day. and who won’t torture the hell out of your hair. quit being a cheapo and get some money from somewhere. ask your mom to pay for it, say it’s for your birthday.

back comb! that gives it the real messy I-dont-give-a-s**t-rock-is-my-life look just lift up a piece of the hair and comb it as normal then comb it from ends to roots!
