Hair-dye, gone majorly wrong

Kso I had light brown hair and decided to colour it a “rich burgundy auburn” and I really love the colour of dark dark auburn. It had the before and after pictures on the box so I thought id try it. So I did and now the top of my hair, is red. And when I mean red, I mean red. Http:// img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/mischiani/redhair.jpg ^ thats not me, but my roots look similar to that. Im going to see my ex for the first time in 7 months tomorrow and we dated a year, and I dont want him seeing my hair like this. My mom says she cant re-dye my hair asap because she has work, so what can I do to hide my roots, please dont say pin my bangs back because my bangs have a bit of red, and dont say “wear a hat”.

So anything would be great.

alright well what I do is dye my own hair. I had the same problem one time and I was trying to get to black hair from blonde…you can imagine how weird that had to look. so what I would do is find a different hair color or maybe a different brand and just do it yourself. I do and its much easier. hope this helps!

ladydon07 funadvice wont let me post the link so I put a space inbetween the // and img just delete the space. and my mom dyes her hair all the time and she said her hair colour goes lighter after a wash but thanks anyway:S

the pic isn’ there…plus if you just got it dyed today, you can’t wash it until 24 hours later, if you do it too soon, your hair will be ruined, or at least start getting brittle…so I am sorry about what happened to your hair…I would suggest…a hat?

wrong, use an extremely high pH soap to shampoo your hair, I’m talking Dawn dish soap. This has the acidity you need to open the cuticle wide enough for that color to come out ( leave it on and massage it in). Honey the worst thing you can do to your hair is use box color on it, well even worse is trying to fix it with another box color. It has sooo much ammonia in it it will rip your hair to shreds and make it look dry and nasty, stop while your ahead
