I am having scoliosis surgery in a few months and I have a thoraic and lumbar curve of 62 and 43 degrees. How much do you think I will grow after surery??
The spinal angular anomalies have been specified ( I presume with the accuracy implied by their values ). That should be adequate to give an informed estimate of increased stature in inches within a tolerance of +/- an inch or thereabouts assuming that corrective surgery is successful. Add to that a further inch for the normal growth of a 14 year old girl prior to achieving full adult stature, and you have a reasonable estimate. I know how much I think she might grow, but I am reluctant to express that opinion, as I am not sufficiently well informed regarding scoliosis surgery for that opinion to deserve consideration as " helpful ".
Well, maybe " Dr Bill " could offer an informed opinion regarding how much he " thinks " she might expect to grow after surgery.
I'd have to disagree with that. Every person is unique and there are so many factors involved in growth rate.
My daughter grows a couple incehs when I tell her to stand up straight. :) Good luck with your surgery!
None of us can answer that ... you'll just have to wait and see.
Only time can tell and hope for the best x
