One of my best friends is graduating in june and she will probably have to leave scotland to get a job. I want to give her a really well thought out present so im going to put together a cd of the ultimate driving songs (that's one of our things, when we are going places we sing along to all the songs, alllll the songs). I've got a few songs but im stuck please help!!!
If i was on my way to Scotland and was doing a CD for the drive this is what i'd bang on it.
En Vogue - Don't Let Go
Kiki Dee - Star
Erasure - Yahoo
George Harrison - Cheer Down
Jaki Graham - Step Right Up
John Parr - St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)
Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around
The Cars - Drive
The Commodores - Nightshift
The Corrs - Silver Strand
Texas - In Demand
Terence Trent D'Arby - If You Let Me Stay
Men At Work - Land Down Under
Natasha Bedingfield - Pocket Full Of Sunshine
Shania Twain - That Don't Impress Me Much
That would be my original but if i had more room i'd bang a few more on like.
Roxy Music - Oh Yeah (On The Radio)
Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back
Scouting For Girls - This Ain't A Love Song
Shakin Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone <-- Only joking.
The entire Meatloaf bat out of hell album, Bob Seger stranger in town album, The Eagles greatest hits and The Eagles hotel california albums, Alison Krauss & Union Station album called New Favorite, any Lyle Lovett album, any Steve Earle album or Todd Snider album or John Prine album. and Nanci Griffith live called one fair summers evening. Sorry, I could only think of what I might take. Maybe you can get something out of it. I have a story about the meatloaf album and a road trip and it took place in England which is why I brought it up.
Some more suggestions...
Queen - Don't stop me now
R.E.M. - Drive
A-ha - Hunting high and low
Desireless - Voyage voyage
From the Eighties, this is still one of my favorite driving songs. Especially in the summer.
