Does anyone know any really good melancholy songs?

Well I’m not too big into sad songs, get real depressed when I listen to sad songs a lot x: But, here’s the ones that I like (Or used to like) that I guess could be considered sad Bob Marley- No woman no cry Blink 182- I’m lost without you Cold war kids- I’ve seen enough Good Charlotte- The day that I die Avenged sevenfold- Seize the day Simple plan- welcome to my life (Stereotypical emo song, yes I’ve been through that phase.) Soundgarden- Fell on black days Gary jules- Mad world (Of course) Black keys- Psychotic girl

Love that music. It depends on what kind you exactly like. Hard, soft, upbeat. But check these out,: Uninvited - Alanis Morissette ,Here With Me - Dido , Worry About You - Ivy , Strange Days - Matthew Good , Porcelain - Moby ,House of Cards - Radiohead ,The Beginning is the End is the Beginning - Smashing Pumpkins , Mad World - Gary Jules ,Trouble - Coldplay, Black - Pearl Jam , Something in the Way - Nirvana , Everybody Hurts - R.E.M. , Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd, ‘I Know It’s Over’ by The Smiths, Masterplan by Oasis, Run by Collective Soul Good Riddance by Green Day , Run, Chasing Cars, How to be Dead, and Hands Open by Snow Patrol , How to Save a Life by the Fray, Happy Alone - Earlimart, Wings of Angels by Tears of Saints, Who’s gonna save my soul - Gnarls Barkley , High Tide or Low Tide - Bob Marley. And on the too depressing side, anything by Elliot Smith.

I think the most melancholic song ever is Sad-eyed Lady of the Lowlands (the original version on the Blonde on Blonde album) by Bob Dylan. Unfortunately that version is no longer on YouTube and you only get a suggestion of the total mastery in Dylan’s version by listening to some of the covers. The Joan Baez version is probably the best cover in my opinion. But it only manages to occasionally hint at the melancholy portrayed by the original, and I think she allows too many Up-beat pints to avoid breaking your heart. Dylan is just totally relentless in the creation of a sense of dejection. Dylan’s original is 11m:20s long, and unfortunately this cover has been clipped a bit at the end.

I also think that Randy Edelman’s “Uptown Uptempo Woman fits the description “melancholy” quite well.
