glucose tablets when pregnant?

I have low blood sugar (I believe it is also called hypoglycemia) but I sometimes take glucose tablets if it gets to low

since these tablets are pure sugar would this be bad for the baby? I know caffeine is bad for the baby so I was wondering if glucose tablets would be to since it’s pure sugar

thanks for the advice :D

You should get a glucometer. Some insurance plans pay for them. Check with your doctor, they can show you how to take your blood sugar test at home (daily and/or when you feel hypoglycemic). And tell your MD that you are feeling hypoglycemic. When I was pregnant, I read, “What to Expect When You are Expecting,” and I got the direct number tothe OB nurse and called her whenever I had questions. If there’s a question that she feels is something serious, she can get you in to see the doctor right away. I also communicated with my doctor, and he was very good at returning my calls. Glucometers are actually sold over the counter at Target now. By all means, if you are feeling like your sugar is low, eat some sugar. If you have problems regulating your blood sugar, sometimes it becomes even more apparent when you are pregnant. It is a definitely a valid concern. It is something that you need to tell your doctor about. There’s a glucose test for pregnant people that he/she needs to order. It’s better that you get in to see the doctor right away because you don’t want to be all by yourself, pregnant, and pass out and faint from hypoglycemia. That would not be good for you and baby.
