Can you give me some examples of metaphors comparing a fruit with a color?

I know I should be able to come up with a proper metaphor myself but I need a bit of help with a poem I’m writing. I hope you guys can give me some good ideas.

All i can think of is as red as a beet or tomato. and i think tomatos are actually fruit

saying something is red as a beat is not a metaphor but a simile

the fiery red apple shined brightly in the light. The celery colored grass drifted gracefully in the wind….

Its best when making a metaphor to use strong verbs and adjectives to help portray a picture. Do not use the words like or as because if you do it wont be a metaphor but a simile. Metaphors usually says something is this to create a strong comparison.
