Why do girls constantly worry about things that don't really matter (hair, makeup, outfit)?

bcuz it matters to them. people these days have become addicted to how they look. especially girls. we al have to wear the right size pants, our hair has to be just right, we have to weigh so much, we have to hve the cutest clothes…and on and on goes the list. people are obsessed with their appearance. our society is not helping us at all in this matter. we are now faced with hollywood plastic and are challenged to look the same. its all society is about now. our culture is bringing us to look at ourselves and compare it to magazine covers. its sad, at least to me. and so we worry about how we look.

because women are born insecure :S even the most beautiful woman out there have insecurities. its a flaw and a burden to all of us women.

We’re taught that to attrack men, that is what we need to do. It’s hardly unique to today’s world. Go back hundreds of years, women in the courts dressed in luxury cloths, wore ungodly uncomfortable designs….used make up….in the days of kings and queens, even the men powdered their hair, and wore makeup…..

It’s all based on attracking the opposite sex.

The reason that girls have to constantly worry about their appearance is because from an early age we were taught to look nice, smell nice, sit properly & have good manners or else we would look like blobs, smell like peasants & and sit like walruses…all of that is unacceptable in today’s society!

Fashion, style, appearances is what people base their first impressions on. All magazines have pictures of men & woman that wear make up have their hair in some style and are wearing the latest trends! It’s always about how to improve yourself, your style & your hair… People don’t focus on the person you are inside anymore it’s the who you seem to be on the outside! You can wear & look like a million bucks but be as poor as a peasant, but as long s you play the part you can get away with just about everything… No one focuses on simplicity, kindness or how amazing you may be…if you look like you just woke up and threw on a pair of jeans & t-shirt dont expect to get noticed when you are walking on the street!

Personally I think hygiene is a #1 rule in my book…if you look clean & smell clean i couldnt careless if someone was in jeans & a t-shirt or in a Hugo Boss suit! What ever makes you feel comfortable…too bad society doesnt see it that way too…it’s all about the first impression & the bling!

Sorry, but i love my makeup. My hair, and my clothes. This does not make me “insecure”, if some girls want to go au natural, then that is their choice in life. I’d rather look nice.

With the way that the media has set the world up to be, fashion, make-up, these ads run all day. It’s become apparent to some that it’s a necessity to look good. And of course because it does make people look better if they do mind these factors, they attract more people.. So I wouldn’t say it doesn’t really matter because even this field has many careers and a lot of people who are quite instense about it. It’s all in a matter of what you find to be important, everyone’s different.

not everyone is ‘dirty’ without the nhancement of makeup and clothes, its once you use those things, your image becomes of a higher standard and everyone thinks you need to look like that…

Because the standard of being thin looking “hot” n fitting into the steriotype.. for men now a days is to do all of those things. I dispise it but have to do it just have to try n try n try n try to live up to expectations..x

well i dont do it cuz im insecure. i enjoy it alot. I love makeing my hair somthing differnt every day, i love using colourful eyeshaadows to go with my mood, and i love getting cute clothes that flatter my shape. thers nothing wrong with it, its wen girls cant leave the house looking regular is wen its bad

well not all girls do but for the ones that do maybe those are the most important things to them and they feel like without them they have nothing to do because there look is there life.

Becuse they’re worried about what other people think about them! i have never put any kinda make up on my face && never will you don’t need make up && expensive cloths too be pretty! ..i don’t think anyone should wear make up i mean a little thats perfectly fine but not all the time .. my cousins girlfriend WON’T be seen without her make up on she goes too sleep with it on! Thats becuse her mom && everyone has told her she was ugly her whole life people also wear make up becuse other people tell them there ugly && they feel pretty with them make up . I think everyones pretty with are without make up!
